The doc cut the cancer off my back this morning. Did a local and whopped it off. 17 stitches, the local has worn off, and it feels like a bee sting. Uncomfortable as all get out.

Not complaining cause it coulda been worse.

Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers.

Sounds like a basal cell carcinoma. Had one taken off my neck about a year ago.

I had my first squamous and basal cell carcinomas cut off of me when I was 35. Ended up losing a good bit of my lower lip and no fewer than 25 outpatient surgeries since then. Finally got ahead of it and now it's mostly efudex cream treatment burning a layer off pre-cancerous $%&! off me once a year. I look like I've been in a knife fight under a black light. Tons of sun exposure when I was young is what did it. Pretty thankful that it's only been those two types and not melanoma......have a close friend who had a scare recently. Basal cell typically spreads like tentacles but stays on the surface and does not typically metastasize....Squamous cell typically spreads but goes into deeper layers rather than spreading out like Basal cell does and can metastasize and eventually kill you if untreated.

Best not to procrastinate with either....I have a family member who did and she is on chemo and radiation therapy because she let it grow too big to treat with surgery alone.

Sorry I'm late to the party per usual... last to know once again. Glad they got you squared away for now Randy. Aging isn't like the travel brochure says, is it? This probably is a good reason to go down and get myself checked out.

Hope this gets you " ready to go" for the next 10 years or more.

Heal up real soon My Friend!

Give our regards to Jo.....

cheers,
john chr. / seafire

Waiting right now to be called in to have one taken off my shoulder. Had a melanoma taken off my forehead last July. Nervous about a spot over my lip now. The joys of aging…

Seafire's NOT the last to know - I guess I take that honor!
Best wishes, and a prayer or two, from here, Randy.
Be nice to Miss Jo through it all. She's there to help, after all. laugh laugh laugh

Hope you get well soon. I feel your pain. I've had Basil Cell Carcinomas cut off before. A friend just told me about "Curaderm BEC5 cream that's supposed to cure it. Has anybody tried it? I think I'm going to get some because it's not any fun getting cut on.
