I drew out on bow deer and javelina. I didn't get drawn for an elk tag.

I can’t imagine a resident of NM and having to hope to draw a tag to hunt. Dang.
Love it out there though. Will be there this October for elk.

It’s getting tough, 5/6 years ago if a person just wanted to hunt, you’d get a tag if you played the odds. I can’t imagine a resident of NM and having to hope to draw a tag to hunt. Dang.

5b can be very good. There are some nice bulls in that unit, but not a ton of elk. Going with an outfitter will help a lot. Good luck.
