Bought a factory blem stock with a loose recoil pad. It seems the screws are stripped out. They look like self tapping and could I fill the holes with a bit of epoxy, maybe drill them out close and try to run the screws back in? The stock is carbon fiber. Thanks

I would take dowel rod appropriate size needed, glue in, then "screw it "

Forget the epoxy....too much monkeying around.
What I have done many times....(it works).
Take the recoil pad off.
Take a small piece of wood, preferably a softwood like cedar or pine.
Take your knife and fashion what is essentially an over-sized tooth pick that is the correct size to fill the hole in the stock where the recoil pad screws go. Long and slender, not short and fat.
Now, take your over-sized tooth pick and tap it into the hole until it stops.
Now cut it off flush.

Re-install the recoil pad.

I either epoxy them on or epoxy threaded aluminum or brass pillars into the stock and attach the pad with appropriate screws.

My preference is the screwed on pads. I just fit a new pad on a LVSF stock with this method.

Thanks for the tips. I'm a woodworker and your ideas are all inline with what I'm thinking. The butt stock is hollow and filled with foam so the holes have to be built up. I would like to be able to remove the recoil pad if necessary. Again, thanks for the tips. Neal

I have one that sounds similar. I have 2 ideas. One I believe will work.
I plan on removing some of the foam to create a rim the thickness of a piece of hardwood about 1/4-3/8 thick. Then I will epoxy the wood in place. That will give me ability to change pads on my Grandson’s rifle as he grows.
I have extended a fiberglass stock by epoxying wood and fiberglassing over it.
My other idea is to install a brass insert( I believe Beretta sells them) they are very coarse threaded to screw into a wood stock and have a machine thread screw for attaching a pad. I did it once without enough release agent..
