After a winter in Yuma AZ, we left Yuma Thursday morning towing our 28' travel trailer, made it to Mesquite NV with not much problem except howling winds all the way. Parked in the casino parking lot for a free night of parking, only cost me $140 as my wife is an avid slot machine looney.

Left the next morning up I-15, crazy place that, wall to wall big trucks interspersed with blithering idiots in other vehicles. Made our way up the Wasatch Front to Hill AFB in Ogden, in a pouring rain, a distance of maybe 80-90 miles of 6 lanes each way bumper to bumper. Very exciting. I just get in the #2 lane and stay there, let them come around me on either side, works for me. I swear SLC drivers are all convinced they are going straight to Heaven because they drive with no fear of death.

Had to lay over an extra day at Hill AFB due to evil road conditions in Wyoming, blowing snow etc. Next day was fine , clear skies and dry roads all the way into Lander with very little wind.

Have spent the last day and a half working like beavers to unload the truck and the trailer and get stuff put away and organized, should only take another week or so. laugh

A day in Ogden and you didn't think to contact me? I am deeply disappointed and a bit pissed off.

Sorry about that, no slight intended. Had no computer hookup to contact you, plus we would not have been good company, we were exhausted from the previous two days of hard driving and just needed a day of rest to recover. When you get to be 82 you'll understand. grin

May I ask how you like it there? Pros and Cons? Is there any elevated ground to build on near town? Decent restaurants?

I hear you about SLC. My wife and I were owner/operators for a while……I would rather drive in LA than SLC! memtb
