How are these?
Looking to replace an SB PMii 5-25x56 and trim up a FTR rifle for a do all.

Other things will be done. Not just the scope.

what reticle are you looking at?

while i've exactly 0 use with the the 4-20 atacr
i have had a pile of nightforce reticles over the years.

in general their FFP and low mag ranges for their reticles are pretty poor. the Mil-R isn't terrible but it's not available on that scope.

the mil-c will need illunination on for low light hunting at 4-6 mag range.

can't do horus. i think they became popular when scopes wouldn't track correctly.

the 35oz weight runs me off on a scope that'll see field use. ymmv

Thanks. Not as concerned about the weight as much as I am the mass. The weight will balance and it isn't going to be a carry rifle. More of a beanfield, sendero type rifle. It will ride in the truck and/0r buggy a ton.

I have lightweights too.

Zero experience but I’ve heard the 4-16 is a much better scope than the 4-20. Again zero experience, but I’ve heard it many times from many places.

Since you’re talking about spending money, have you looked at the ZCO 4-20x50?

The S&B has better resolution and a bit more forgiving eye box. A friend of mine has one, I was unimpressed and he sent it down the road, so I'd guess he felt the same way.

May not be a big upgrade in optical quality for you, the Bender holds up quite well still. I have two PMIIs and haven't seen anything that would be worth the swap. Starting from scratch, the Kahles K525i is very appealing. There is also a high-power version if you're thinking heavily into F-Class.
