Well the first batch fledged out of the box a couple of weeks ago. The parents have cleaned up the box and added new material with the help of the youngsters. The young typically hang around and help feeding the next batch of little ones. The picture is pretty poor but looks like there’s at least 5 new eggs already laid for the next cycle.

Mine haven't left the nest yet, but getting close. Mom is going back and forth trying to keep them fed. I think she will be happy when they move out!!

Cool stuff. We occasionally see bluebirds here. I built a house for them in about 2015. Tree Swallows found and claimed it that same year. I was bummed at first, but the swallows became welcomed annual residents for several years until they stopped using that house.

Nothing nesting here yet. Have had some Mt. blue birds looking at out houses.

Had a flock of Indigo Buntings show up yesterday. Still hanging around and feeding the back yard; even while it’s raining. Last year had 13 just off the patio. Beautiful birds. Any updates on the mortality rates last night to the migrating flocks in the Gulf during the bad weather?

I usually only see a couple indigo buntings a year, but it's been about 3 years since I've seen one here. Not sure if somethings changed, but I miss them. My Bluebirds are just about hatching their first batch.

Found 1/2 of a blue eggshell on my front lawn last week. I have seen very few Bluebirds this year.

Very cool! I have been watching a pair in my garden but haven't peeked into the box. If there are not eggs yet, the female will be laying them any day. My second box had sparrows in it. I removed their nest everyday for a couple of weeks. They seem to have moved on.
