I’ve got the Johnson Mills coat and pants. I was hoping the Big Woods Bucks fellas would get their little pack with shoulder straps in stock before hunting season.

The unlined wool is some darned awesome hunting gear.

Word, my good man!

Some of my Johnson Mills wool jackets and pants go back 50 years: since high school. Warm, even when wet, and quiet. I have variations in both red and green.....

Since I often use a Ruger #1 single shot, I keep a few extra cartridges, a rangefinder, my little powder dispenser to check the wind, a GPS, a game call du jour, and some tissues for those cold, runny-nose mornings. The rest sits happily in my pack.

Rope for dragging, pocket knife, hunting license, paper napkins, cell phone with hunting/shooting applications and ammo. I used to have a range finder in my pocket, now I carry a range finding binocular.

I prefer classic.
