Saw a used one in LGS tdy, believe it was $1299. It may have been scoped, can’t remember. I had one, in 22h and 17h. Neither was accurate. Would never own another.

I agree with $600 - had one and only but accuracy did not meet my expectations

Bmet: Year before last I helped a Varminting buddy find and buy a Ruger 77/17 HMR with the heavy barrel and laminated stock. It was in as new condition. He paid $800.00 for it. He put a Leupold 6.5x20 variable on it and had a trigger kit added. It shoots exceptionally well! Today, as you describe it, I think that Ruger 77/17 HMR would bring $850.00 to $900.00!
And this for hammer25/06 and ken158 above - I will buy EVERY heavy barrel Ruger 77/17 HMR in good condition that you come across for $600.00 (six hundred dollars) even though I already have one! Shakin my head. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Most seem to be asking for $1000 or more on gunbroker ^^^This^^^ They’ve skyrocketed in value over the past few years since Ruger stopped making them. There’s not a lot of new rifles being chambered in 22 Hornet anymore and the guys that want one tend to also gravitate towards blued steel, walnut stocks and controlled round feed. It’s a rifle that buyers will pay a premium for.

If Ruger starts producing them again I hope they start making some K-hornets. I'm amazed at what my stainless 77/44 is worth these days. Mines like new and with what they're bringing I'm tempted to sell it. However I've got a bunch of lee 310g bullets casted and powder coated and the 77/44 shoots them really well. Bb

Accuracy is the issue with these 77 hornets. I had to have one when they first came out. I could not get it to shoot. Finally gave up. A friend of mine wanted it, and I told him it just wasn’t a shooter. He said, “I’ll get ‘er to shoot…”. Sold it to him. He gave up after a few months and sold it to another “smart guy” like us that knew he could figure it out. I hope that he did!

i have a Ruger 77 S.S. laminated stock , i glass bedded and floated barrel , re-chambered to a 22 K-hornet , trigger is now about 3 lbs and crisp , mine shots excellent with my handloads . as Mule Deer has explained on the campfire the K-Hornet seems to resize straighter easier than a plain 22 Hornet so it does shoot more accurate for me now too. $1000.00 is a common price for the blued ones the S.S. go for more . its a great little cartridge if you hand load and the K-Hornet is even better for me.

Glad that KHornet worked out for you. Some say that the standard 22 hornet cartridge is not an accurate round. I have two Anschutz and an 1885 Winchester all in standard 22 hornet. The Anschutz are 3/4” or better guns, the 1885 just under an inch. Been there done that with multiple Ruger 77s in the hornet cartridge. They would not come close to one inch groups.

Bought one off GB 10 years ago for $495 with a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9. Sent it to Connecticut Precision Chambering for rechamber to K-H, shim bolt, trigger job to 2 1/2 lbs, and target crown. Cost back then: $225. Got it back and it shot 1" groups all day while fireforming factory ammo. Finally worked up a K load and I get sub-1" groups at 3100 fps with a 40 gr Varminator over 11.something grains of Lil gun. I like the gun!

I have a buddy that is building a K-Hornet. His smith said they K's don't feed well in the Ruger so he bought a CZ 527. Anybody with a 77/22 K Hornet have any feeding issues?

Feeding problems with the K shoulder in the 22 Hornet rotary mag. Quick fix: buy a mag for the 17. Ruger makes one and it is designed for the sharp shoulder. Problem solved.
