I'm ceaning the front of the camper (well, actually all of it) before it goes back on in a few days or weeks.. Yeah, I know - I should have washed those petrified smushed bugs off last fall. smile

Has anyone used any of these "ceramic" polishes? Will they actually make bug removal easier? Or other options? Or forget it?

Use Bug Slide to get them off. Was my go-to on the bike. Paint, black, chrome - all of it, it works.

Clean/polish with it too and they seem to come off easier the next time.

I also did Griot's on my truck last fall as a "ceramic" DIY application - they seem to come off easier, even now 9 months later. Also water shedding etc - excellent. I've done Mequires and Turtle Wax for other "diy ceramics" and they weren't as good as Griots. 3 in 1

A buddy of mine swears by Bounce dryer sheets. He uses it on the front cap of his 5th wheel to remove bugs.

I haven't tried it yet myself.

WD40 also works great as a bug and tar remover.

When ya get it de-bugged, might wanna consider PPF, a thin sheet of plastic that sticks to your rig, so the bugs can't touch the paint.

So next year, ya can just leave em on.

If your camper is fairly flat-sided, you can probably do it yourself.

Get whatever you are putting the ceramic sealant on REAL clean before you put it on. If not, it'll seal last years bugs right on there.

Should make removal easier though.

The folks that make seafoam have a spray called bug off and it works.

Spray it on them wait a bit then hit them with the wand at the car wash and they come off easy.

No scrubbing.

That’s what was recommended to me and everyone I know that’s used it claims great results. I don’t worry about stuff like that….I got bigger fish to fry. Today I hit my head on the bucket of the tractor (AGAIN!) this time splitting my head open. I decided to move the truck and trailer with the tractor loaded but since I was fuzzy from the concussion I didn’t think to reposition the bucket and a slight turn put the corner of the bucket into the back of my tailgate. 🤬🙄

It’s my work and hunting truck and while she ain’t pretty she’s like a comfortable pair of shoes….she’ll take me wherever I wanna go comfortably and she’s never left me stranded. 300,000 miles and that old 5.3 Vortec hauled 7500 pounds of trailer and tractor uphill at 45-50 mph for several miles without trouble, as usual she got me home safely.

Bugs?…. I thought it was too cold and too far away from cities for there to be any bugs in Alaska. 😀
