Merrell MOABs for me .. for pretty much all use. I switch to Merrell Trail Gloves in black when I need to wear something that doesn't look like a "hiking boot." I have had pretty good luck with New Balance, Columbia, and Danner low top "boots" in the past but I rank Merrell ahead of all of them for my feet. It's probably been 10 years or more since I've done anything else.

Even if you're not going to run go to a decent running store and have them fit you. A good one will have you walk on a treadmill and measure your feet and find you the right shoe. Walking and standing is slow running, OK, really slow when standing, grinand the same mechanics are there.

I've been very happy with various Brooks shoes over the years as I have a wide forefoot and pronate. They're all different.

If your feet don’t let you simply wear anything that fits, the best thing to go to a store that specializes in athletic/ running shoes. Tell them what you want and why, they can help guide you.

It’ll be pricier than the Chinese embassy, but a case of buy once/fry once.

I’d be looking for the shoe that has the most support and the lowest weight.

As these threads usually go, you're getting individual favorites, not necessarily what's best for YOU.

+ 1 on the Brooks,i wear, Brooks Beast '20 , over-pronation running shoe,i like them alot.

Always felt like Frankenstein in those. I do like the Brooks Adrenaline. Currently am more than happy with the Hokas. New Balance also makes some nice shoes.

Keen, Merrill and New Balance all work well for me. Puma, UA, Nike, ect are ok but not as comfortable as the first three I mentioned.

They tend to run about a half size small, though. If you order online, get one the next size up.

I am on my 5th iteration of the Altra Lone Peak. Their shoes are zero drop and have wide toe boxes. I walk about 25 miles/week on rocky trails and find them the best shoe I have ever used. They also make the Olympus model with the same fit but more cushioning and both are available in a GTX high top and both have a wide version.

New Balance walking shoes. I wear them for work, play and have hunted in Africa four times wearing them.

I find the Hokas to be well made and very comfy for long periods of time on my feet.

New Balance was a past favorite, currently I’m wearing Brooks and they are very comfortable.
For leather casual I have worn Merrell Jungle Mocs for about the the past 25 years and I hope they don’t stop making them.

I'm currently wearing Merrell's, I've had several pairs of New Balance. Keen are all right but it took me a while to get used to their different foot strike attitude.

Altra, but you have to get used to zero drop shoes if you’ve spent you life in heels.

The spare shoes in the locker at work are NB walkers, not sure of the model number. They get worn in the event of an oops with the usual Timberland hikers, mostly when break in isn't going so well with the Tims. Keep in mind the longest walk I've had in the NBs was only 28 miles in a day over mixed trails in the driftless, so they're a slightly lower mileage shoe for me than some others.

Nike Air Force 1’s for me. I wear em’ at work. I’m on my feet…and constantly on the go…for pretty much the entire 12 hour shift.

Awesome.

Dad's got arthritis in his hands.

I will order a pair to try.

Thanks.
