I can't construct a permanent shooting table where I shoot, so I need a recommendation for a mid to upper tier portable shooting table, if there is such a thing.

Thanks.

Well for sure there is such a thing.
Depends upon how far you want to go with cost, and how you will be using it as for what is the best for you.
Actually a pair of folding saw horses with a piece of plywood placed on top will work pretty well.
So will a folding work station from Home Depot.
But it can go uphill from there if you want something better or more suitable for a specific type situation.
I cant post pictures, but i can email them, and i have lots of them of various types of benches we use for hunting.
Also some of the shooting tripods we use, which arent the typical camera tripod setup.

I use the Caldwell Stable Table. They go for $239 now at Midway. Wife got mine for a B-Day gift a few years back, they were on sale for $149 then.

It's not rock solid like a concrete bench, but it's not bad. I've been using it for a few years now. For zeroing rifles, assessing reloads, shooting prairie dogs, it works fine.

I'd look at "portable shooting bench brackets" in the classifieds. I might have other suggestions with more detail on what portable means in context. Portable can be anything from can be dragged around with a forklift or tractor to can be carried with one hand and a rifle in the other.

After building 2 of these using leg brakets like sold in the classifieds here, I realized that a double layer of 3/4 pw was unnecessary. Just a T stip underneath would make it rigid enough & save nearly half the weight.

Been using my home made one probably 22+ years now

Brackets are sold here by Lonny

I use two pcs 3/4" plywood 24 W x 38 L

1.25" pipe legs are 30-31"

Plenty portable & still a solid shooting table

20-222 on table on a p/dog safari

Curious as to how that rifle is hooked on, the one beneath the bench?

StudDuc, not portable but very mobile.....I have a golf cart with a bed in back and I have a piece of 3/4" plywood like 4' x 2' that I place across the bed and have a shop stool with adjustable seat that can be set at correct height that I place on the side to shoot....very stable and serves my purpose to get to my shooting range. Can carry my steel target setup with a piece of cardboard to staple targets to.....place at any distance I need to shoot out to 400 yards or so. Been using it for years for target practice and zeroing rifles. Plenty of space for rifles, bullets, shooting bags, cleaning supplies, etc. Like I said, very mobile and fast and easy to get set up.

Portable is somewhat vague. I consider a portable table, one that is easy to move from one location to another in a prairie dog town. Legs that are screwed into the table top aren’t what I would consider portable in that situation. If you don’t move, they can work fine, but the rotating bench doesn’t limit your direction of shooting.

These tables are very stable and rotate 360 degrees for real ease in moving them from one spot to another and they can be loaded in numbers in the back of a truck as they lay totally flat. If there was something better, I would get it…

So, where would I find said table?

That's a 10/22 with bipod. It's sitting on the ground about 10 feet behind the shooting table.
