Colt 1911 with 1918 serial number (#309515) on receiver. Assembled (probably post-WWII) with various serial numbers. Gov't Model, 45ACP. Tennite grips, very slight muzzle wear on plum-colored slide. Something doesn't match up, that looks like a 1911A1 style frame, didn't come out until mid 1920s, and the 309515-C doesn't look like a Colt serial number.
Slide marking don't look like a pre wwII colt either.

Good eye! Serial number is right, I believe, the relief cut behind the trigger was commonly done.

I do not know jack about 1911's but I just picked up one in trade. I was told in was a 1968 model. I believe it as my serial number is just a little higher than yours. It looks to be in pretty much the same condition.
