Winner, winner lobster diner, looks great!

Long story that I won’t relate here, but I’m at the Courtyard Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg and I’ve just eaten the best steak I’ve ever had in my life.

T-bone done blue rare. I had one last night that was a little overdone. Tonight they got it right. I called the chef out and he admitted his assistant Mooshe cooked it. I shook her and and bowed to her. Absolutely perfect.

And Laphroag 10 Scotch is $4US for a DOUBLE! 6 deep, but that didn’t affect my decision. Absolutely the best steak ever.

That is a blade steak roast, Sir.

Pulled lamb, tortilla pizzas !

Roast beef.

A large Papa Murphy's thin crust pizza. We ate half so lunch is good for tomorrow. Tasty and $15.

Ballparks on the grill, sriracha, ketchup and mustard with coleslaw.

For noon Sunday, air fried chicken.

Elk rinderrouladen and cauliflower puree.

Tough elk shoulder roast cut up and pounded thin, then coated with German mustard, a few onion pieces, 1/2 slice bacon and some sour pickles. Rolled up and toothpicks in.





Browned rouladen and then started braising liquid with a nice mix of veggies. About 100 min in 325 deg oven with red wine, lamb bone broth, tomato paste and a few bay leaves.



Strained liquid and thickened slightly. Very good for a tougher cut. The vinegar of the sour pickle is smoothed out by the braising liquid.

Tonight was like college. Hit the city for a play. Got home fairly hungry and lazy.
