I inherited this gun a year ago but I've done nothing with it since. I had hoped to develop a use for it but that hasn't happened. Nice unit, argueably unfired. List it on Guns International?

You can probably sell it right here if you post some pics and details.

Only problem is, there’s no such thing as a 1953 Model 99G. 1953 EG?

Lightfoot? I thought you were dead? Sorry....read that earlier. Yes, it's an EG, chambered in .250/3000. I also have three boxes of shells and a box of 100 bullets.

My buddy passed in 2018. He bought the gun from Tommyguns, in New Castle, Pennsylvania in 2016 because he wanted "perfection". He never used it either...
Not bad for 70 years old, eh?

That is a very, very beautiful rifle. You sure about the 800,000 serial number?

Thanks, I am. Not a "grey rat". It needs to go to someone who would appreciate it.

Consignment probably through a knowledgeable broker to get it into a bidding war. We had a local gun shop do that with a nib 99 .300 Savage out of a collection and the rifle went for over 3k! Even at the 15% commission rate, the 99 owner did very well.
My other auto is a .45

Yep Tommy seems to get top dollar he would know where best to sell? Gunsinternational has a flat fee for listing and its very reasonable.

Yep Tommy seems to get top dollar he would know where best to sell? Gunsinternational has a flat fee for listing and its very reasonable. I think it's about $17, something like that. It's not an auction site though, so you set your price and that's what it is. On a really nice weapon that may be a bit of a wildcard, unknown what it might bring to the right guy, an auction format might be better. That's the decision every seller has to make. Do I have enough data points to sell this at a set price or is it enough of an unknown that I should run an auction and take my chances? Gunbroker fees are considerably higher than Gunsinternational, several times, but if you realize several hundred more dollars in selling price, it'd pay for the increased fees and then some.

Thanks, I am. Not a "grey rat". It needs to go to someobe who would appreciate it. There are very few rifles in the 800,000 serial number range, that's why I was asking. Some collector might put a premium on that. And I would say anyone would appreciate that rifle.

We have talked about this rifle here before. I have it in my data. Pretty sure it is an 800,000 serial.
