Ukraine drone activity ramping up. If it gets ramped up enough, Kiev will get the Willy Pete treatment. It seems as if that's Russia's current strategy. Fight on the ground face to face for a while,...then back up and use artillery. After a few repetitions of that they just say "fuggit" and Willy Pete the whole area. Could well happen. The difference is that the Ukraine will be firing back. Look for surface and subsurface drones in the Black Sea.

A combination of hypersonic speed and a heavy warhead allows the Kinzhal to destroy heavily fortified targets, such as underground bunkers or mountain tunnels.
“I congratulate the Ukrainian people on the historic event. Yes, we shot down the ‘unique’ Kinzhal,” Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said in a Telegram post on Saturday. “It happened during the nighttime attack on May 4 in the skies of the Kyiv region.”
It was the first time Ukraine is known to have used the Patriot missile defence system.
Oleshchuk said the Kh-47 was launched by a MiG-31K aircraft from Russian territory and was shot down with a single Patriot missile. The Ukrainian military has previously admitted lacking assets to intercept the supersonic weapon.
The Kinzhal, which means “dagger” in Russian, is one of six “next generation” weapons unveiled by President Vladimir Putin in 2018 when the Russian leader boasted it cannot be shot down by any of the world’s air defence systems.
The air-launched ballistic missile can reach speeds of up to Mach 10 (12,350 kilometres per hour) and is capable of carrying nuclear or conventional warheads.

They could barely hid scuds in Iraq, Houthi Iranian made drones or in Saudi Arabia and in Syria not doing much better. The missiles on the patriot with a range of around 30 km has a speed around mach 4, Kinzhals around mach 8 to 10 Just like you said that the 40 year old javelins, many with dead battery systems, were game changers. Need a good chuckle.... I'll give you a war report. It's pretty goddam ugly, especially around Bahkmut. POW's being shot and murdered on both sides. The Ukes are very accurate with their drone trench bombing. One Russian soldier was so badly wounded from a drone, he shot himself. POWs being forced to eat morale patches. It's as ugly as war can get. There will be decades of hatred between the combatants.

There's already deep seated hatred between Ukraine nazis and Russians.
They slaughtered Russians, jews and polish during WWII, and were never prosecuted.
They've continued the slaughter of ethnic Russians in the Donbas.
The Minsk Agreement was supposed to allow the Donbas to vote for who they wanted to join.
Never happened, and here we are.
This war was masterminded by the West who could give 2 scchhiits about the Ukrainian people. They are cannon fodder.
There is no upside for the US, and only downside.
