It will be my first time reloading

If you have buddies that load their own, that would be the first place to look. I have a buddy that is getting into reloading his own and I have been helping him out. Another buddy that needed some for his magnums got a brick of CCI250's from me a few months ago. Gave him a hell of a deal on that brick, but that is what friends are for. Good luck with it. Also, word on the streets is we should start seeing LR primers on the shelves by July. In some threads, I've been hearing about CCI200's and BR2's hitting the shelves. You'll be paying big time for them though. At least until the shelves get stocked up, then prices will fall.

Natchezss doesn’t have em in stock but the CCI 250 is marked @ 109 a brick BR’s are 169.00. Expect to see +20-30% when they do show up due to demand.

Large rifle primers of any sort are in extremely short supply. The only advice I can offer is keep looking.

I think there is a lot of myth and hearsay regarding the need for mag primers, and i am no expert by any gate, but I eventually went to standard primers shooting competition with the SMK 190 in the 300WM. Many shooters love H1000, so I can't knock it, but like AMU when they were using the 300 WM, I got lower vel spreads with faster powders. But, nowadays, ya gotta use what you can find.

That is exactly what I'm doing...using what I have. Being a rookie reloader, I'm trying to read up on all the load data I can find. Hogdon is just some of the only powders I'm familiar with and happened across a pound of the H1000

I'm open to suggestions but as stated, looking for another powder might just present another issue with component supply.

I’ve got CCI 250, 7000 ct. I’ve got CCI 200, 6000 ct.

Aint giving them up. Might have to use them as retirement supplement.😎

Check your local sportsman’s warehouse. I’ve read they’ve been getting decent shipments as of late.

That's good advice. One of the managers at Scheels told me last month that they should have some by July. So that could be an option as well.. It's really hard right now to be a new handloader. However, with this being said, there are still good deals out there, if you are willing to look around. I saw a damn huge bag of new 338wm brass yesterday that I almost bought, just because the price was right. Some poor guy probably selling them because he can't find CCI250's!!

Just did this...They have CCI 200 - Larger Rifle Primers but not the 250's for Magnum rifles...Nut sure I understand the dif unless it's just common sense...250 = hotter primer
