What are the best lightweight 1” rings for a Picatinny rail? I’m going to mount a 6x42 FX3 Leupold. Would that be low or mediums?

Vortex has their name on several different sets. I think their high end ones are rebadged Seekins but I’ve never had issue with the $50 versions.

The Warne 'Vapor' horizontal split rings are worth considering. Light, well made and no obtrusive nut hanging out the side. I've been working with several sets and the fit on Picatinny rails has been excellent. -Al

We carry Warne and Athlon 1" rings. Both are dependable and reasonably priced

Burris signature ZEE rings Strong lightweight and wont leave ring marks Winner Again! Burris also sells off set inserts which I have used to "fix" horizontal offset, and to induce vertical offset.

I like the Seekins 1" lows and use them on several rifles. Have a few pair of the Vortex branded that are the same.

Yep used them to correct windage issues. Either the 99 was tapped out of line or the weaver base had a problem

Ken Farrell makes the lowest rings for a Picatinny rail, & they are very lightweight.

The only reasons I'd use mediums with a 42 obj are: 1. If it was a short tubed scope, mounted on a rail, on a long action, where I needed a bit more height to avoid hitting the front of the rail.....and even then I'd prefer to file the front of the rail if I could. 2. The stock had a very high comb/little drop and I needed the scope higher due to cheek weld. 3. The barrel contour was so thick that the height was needed to avoid the objective bell touching the barrel.
