This is how seriously phugged up the trans movement is. It's totally insane. It's the very definition of insanity.
I remember arguing with a professor I had in college (abnormal psych) about this. His position was no different than the modern day woke one, and I raised my hand and asked him to distinguish gender dysphoria from a guy convinced he's Napoleon Bonaparte. The guy was enraged, and I got booed by the woke lesbians in the class. So I said, distinguish it from the guy who's convinced he's a donkey, and I asked if it would be appropriate to affirm his belief, and even offer surgery to modify his hands and feet into hooves. Again, he responded with outrage. Good thing all the exams were objective.
What year was this, when you were in college?
I was a freshman in 1984. It occurred to me after a couple of sessions of my political science class that the professor was a freaking communist and I said to myself, "holy crap this guy is a freaking communist".
The thing of it was, none of the other kids took him too seriously back then. Most of the kids who were political at all were for Reagan. But, commies have been playing the long game and now have a choke hold on academia a mere 40 years later, and people do take them seriously.

I'm inclined to think that at least in some cases that may be true. when I was growing up many years ago, my best friend's sister aid she never wanted to ever be with a man She talked a lot about wanting to get it on with another woman and was totally repulsed by the male anatomy. I guess she was may be 11 at the time and as she go older she never changed he point of view. Well, we all grow up and move on and it was years later, mid 1970s IIRC her brother had chased me down to where I was living in Nevada and we caught up on stuff. I asked about his brother and sisters and got the general he's doing fine, sisters are married, you know the usual. Being curious about the oldest sister I asked about her and he told me she was married to her wife. Guess she was wired to be that way literally from birth.
A few years back I ran into my friend's middle sister on Facebook. My friend and his brother were killed in a boating accident when caught in a storm. Her oldest sister, the lesbian and her youngest sister also now dead. Of the five siblings she's the only one still above ground. Haven't heard from her in almost a year so I wonder if she's even still alive? Kind of sad as AFAIK, I've outlived every one of my friends that I grew up with. PJ
