A reminder - MI bear applications, you can start sending them in today.
I think I'm on year 13 this year - still no draw, tho 1st season Carney area isn't easy I guess. Still, it's 5 bucks for a chance I guess.

You haven't drawn that tag with 13 points? Everyone I know who's applied for the first hunt in the Carney has drawn with 5 or 6 points.

Still, it's 5 bucks for a chance I guess. 13 points should have drawn any tag except for Drummond Island. Nonresident restriction, maybe? It looks like it took about 6 points to draw a 1st season Carney tag last year. I'll apply for a preference point again this year. I think I've got 3 or 4. Too busy that time of year now to make a bear hunt but someday I probably will. Thanks for the reminder.

You can go to CO and buy a non res bear tag over the counter for $100 and some areas have really high success

Hell ....I get a tag every other year now 5 years ago and before got one every year in Newberry have shot a bear every time I've got a tag since 1990....you don't need to hunt the first season to fill your tag.....
