I just installed a Holosun 507c on a new Smith model 69.(44mag) I used an allchin mount to keep the sight as low as possible. I am shooting at 25 yds off of a rest and with the sights verticle adjusment maxed out i am still 10" high! Anybody else have this happen? I was shooting both special's and magnums, both 240gr.

Yup, same here. I got a tapered shim and that cured the proplem. I am traveling and do not have or remember the what and where details. I'll look for the details when back home in a few weeks. In fact I still have the shim if you want it. I traded the m69.

This is interesting as I was just about ready to use the same mount and sight on a S&W M686 .357. Now I'm not so sure I want to do that.

I had the same problem with my Model 69. I returned mine and put a Vortex Venom on which sighted in OK but I liked the Holosun reticle much better.
Please don't feed the trolls!

Looks like you're shooting matches of some sort? Probably a .38 load? Have you ever zeroed that with heavy bullet full house magnum ammunition?

ICORE.
No I haven’t shot any heavy magnums with it. I’ll see what I can find and try them this weekend.
Just checked and all I have are 125 grain Gold Dots in magnums. Up until recently I’ve always had a 44 if I needed more gun. Gotta rethink things now I guess.

I’ve used three EGW mounts, a 1911, a Glock, and a S&W 629 classic 5”. I haven’t had any issues getting them zeroed. The Glock was almost dead on at 25 yards when I first shot it, only about 2” to the right if I remember correctly, wasn’t much.

I had this very issue today while trying to sight in a Holoson EPS Carry with an Allchin mount on my M69 using 300 grainers at 1150. I'll be trying the shim.

O ne thing i found out is you will need longer screws than those supplied by Holosun. The mount from allchin comes with longer screws (6/32) but the head diameter was to big. I had to machine the head diameter down about .025".

Kinda makes me think I may go with the EGW mount.
