I had listed the knife and hadnβt noticed the scales had started to separate from the blade. The separation was mentioned in the add and Hank sent me a message immediately that he wanted to make it right. He rescaled the knife with a blue Micarta we had decided on, but he wasnβt happy with how it came out and redid it with blue G-10 and it came out great. Customer service at its finest IMO.

Good to hear he took care of you. That means a lot in these days of throw away items and usually non-existent customer service. It is an obviously good looking blade, a very useful pattern. One thing I always look at when examining a maker's work is the sheath. I appreciate a well crafted trim sheath and that looks like good work from Mr. Hammond.

Thanks folks! Much appreciated. We initially decided on blue micarta and I picked up a pair of scales from my supplier. After attaching them and grinding/shaping the micarta I could see it wasnβt going to work. After grinding, the individual layers were exposed and each layer was inconsistent in colorβ¦..looked like it had Covid or leprosy. π€£
Glued on a like color of G-10 and we were good to go. Love G-10 personally for this exact reason.
Enjoyed making it right for Scott. Heβs a great guy and I enjoyed swapping lies with him about NM elk hunting (we have some of the same stomping grounds).
Thanks for the compliments on the sheath. Thereβs a ton of knife makers out there that buy βone size fits mostβ generic sheaths for their knives. Not me. Each sheath is made by me for that individual blade.

Looks great. I suspect it'll get plenty of workouts.
