Roger McGuinn, David Crosby, Gram Parsons and Clarence White

vs.

Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson and Richard Manuel

This is a tough one for me. I think Levon Helms is one of the coolest guys to ever walk the planet, which would make Gram Parsons the second coolest. Robbie Robertson is a total cheese dïck though which in my mind, levels the playing field.

The Byrds for the win.

Where you going?

Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

Byrds for the win, especially while Clarence White was with them.

Byrds. Were among the earlier ground breaking rockers; groups The Band was influenced by even if not by the Byrd’s directly. Beatles, Stones, etc. I’ll go with them on that weight alone.

Well we're Green and we're Gold, and we play better when it's cold. All us Cheese heads have our favorite superstar. We love Brett Favre.

I got a story.

This is my buddy Bruce.

He's a badass. We were at Sierra Nevada Brewery watching Marty and His Fabulous Superlatives play. After the show, we were in line waiting to say hey to Marty and the boys and Bruce comes out elated that his buddy that was running sound got him on stage to play the double bodied Clarence guitar! Holy schidt! What a moment!

Well, we get up to grab some merch from Marty and Bruce tells him about his experience playing it. DOH! Marty was kinda pi$$ed. Can't say I blame him though. That guitar is iconic and pretty much priceless.

The Weight and I Wasn’t Born to Follow are both great.

I like I Wasn’t Born to Follow just a little more but like The Band better overall.

The Band. Here's a nice redo of The Weight. Shows how timeless that tune is.
