Went to the Las Vegas Shooting Center in Vegas with the family. Dropped some money on pistols and the MP5. Wow! What a fun submachine gun to shoot! Easy to regulate the trigger for 3-4 shots, and just holding it put a BIG smile on everyone's face! Because both girls handle shotguns quite well they had no difficulty with 9mm rounds. Biggest downside was just how fast it goes through ammunition $$$.

Still so much fun. smile smile

Good for you! I did similar in Vegas 2 years ago - M60, M1917 and Minigun. It was a blast! Told wife the only way she'd ever get me go to Vegas again, is if that was on the menu...

There is a place down the road that rents full auto guns. Its been about 10 years since I shot there but it was $50 for 40 rounds. I shot an Uzi, a Thompson, and a Kriss. It was pretty sick. They have a full sized Gatling gun too.

You can rent them here in Boise at a couple of indoor ranges.

Good bud is a U.S. Marshall, says the MP-5 is the best of the lot, beats out the Uzi and all of rest.

That's what the range people said - they love the MP5, so smooth, so controllable.

Grouseman: During my police career i got to shoot/train on several full automatic weapons and the MP-5 was one of the coolest.
Pay the money - enjoy.

I worked with a Class III rental range years ago in college, and we had quite a selection of full autos....my favorites were a converted Glock 17L and an American 180 .22LR.

I have, at my whim, M16's & MP-5's to shoot with a phone call away. But I have to bring the ammo, that's the hard part. Not as much fun.

I was wondering about the cost of such a lark, should I ever find myself in the sin-city. I'd love to partake in the full auto experience, but am a bit leery of the expenditure......

I was privileged to shoot a suppressed Ingram M-11 .380. Being suppressed made it a blast to shoot. I've also shot a S&W 76 and an M-2 .30 carbine. The ammo expenditure is brutal.
