Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Solid rock and rock guitar player. Wrote a couple of solos that were dead on perfect for the songs they were in. IzzyS wrote the songs, but Slash wrote the solos. Big time booze problem that embarrassingly interfered with a few years of his live playing. Later, saw a video of him play with an aging BBking and he could have lit it up but instead was very gracious in deferring to the "king". Classy. He's not a virtuoso style player. So what.

As Crockettnj states a very good solid and talented player. Timing was so perfect for him with Guns & Roses. Classic rock band that really filled a need in their era. Correct also that IzzyS wrote the songs. Slash also had " the look " with the signature top hat and played Les Pauls that gave the huge humbucker sound that you could feel all the way down in your toes!
I've watched a couple of video's of interviews and he actually seems fairly shy.
His intro to "Sweet Child of Mine" with Guns and Roses is still one of my favorite intros ever. I've heard him really rip on a few occasions, but most of the time he goes along with the program like a good bandmate . Like a few older players, after his booze and drugs days he has really settled down is more conservative than I would have imagined after seeing him interviewed several times.
