Is gun shield and bore coat still available?
Any feed back on gun shield? Have a matte finish ADL that I'd like to coat while I decide on its future and any mote permanent finish.

I do not believe either are available. I used both products on my SS 375 H&H M70 prior to my SE Alaska brown bear hunt. The rifle saw rain and two full dunks in the sea. Never wiped down until I returned home. It was clear what areas I missed with the Shield. Sling swivels, scope ring screws, mag box and underside of the floor plate all had rust. The rest of the rifle that was coated was fine. I was impressed.

These also work well to improve feeding and ejection, in semi-auto firearms.

The whole story seems headed for the "If it's a good product, they'll quit making it" ending.

I moved to Mississippi (currently 72% relative humidity) from Nevada (currently 6% relative humidity).
Rust has reared its ugly head, like I've NEVER seen it before! I use Damprid in my storage room, and an electric heater in my gun safe. And I STILL see traces of rust!
I've decided to only buy stainless steel or ceracoted firearms from this time forward, but I have some treasured guns that I will never sell and will never ceracote.
I'm joining SU35 and calling dyna-tek on Monday.

I ran out of Dyna-Tek and could not find any when I looked about 6 months ago. I just coated a new 22-250 barrel (McGowan) with HS 937. It is a solvent based nano-ceramic coating like Dyna-Tek. I'll be shooting to cure the barrel next week. I'm a believer. Significantly increases the interval between cleanings, a chore I don't much care for. http://huntspecmat.com/hs-937-gun-and-bore-coatings/

I have probably 1/2-2/3 of a bottle. Have used some out of it, but assuming it is still good. Still clear with the strong alcohol smell.
One time I coated a bore and dripped some on my chest freezer in the basement. The spot cured and looks about as impossible to remove as cured JB weld. And that is even without heat curing.

I have some and have used bore coat and gun shield a bunch. I am glad they are back to market with it as this stuff really works and works very well. I have a few rifles I coated a few years ago and they are still perfect.

Yeah, about the staining. I had to learn the hard way that, when the instructions warned against spilling on any surface you don't wan't stained, they mean it. I treated the barrel on a Kimber Montana, then neglected to place it muzzle down while it dried. Instead, I propped it upright. Now there are 2 lines where the liquid ran out of the action and down the right side of the stock. Nothing short of sandpaper is getting these marks off. I plan on having the stock painted to cover up my mistake.
