VERY FEW hummers this year so far at our place in PA. By this time last year, we had upwards of 60-70 of them. So far, we've only seen about four and at least one male. Is this normal or do you think that storm you mentioned Birdie took it's toll?

Of course as you age you tend to lose your "allure" as it were.

Same thing here in SE NM. Only a few Black-Chinned Hummingbirds have shown up here so far.

We normally get Ruby-Throated Hummers and occasionally a Rufous Hummer in addition to the Black-Chinned ones, but neither of them have shown up.

For the past several years, my wife and I sit outside at dusk almost every night and enjoy the "Hummingbird Wars" as they congregate to feed just before roosting and vie for the feeders (even though there's enough for all grin) but the show is not the same as it has been.

They're refusing to pay our toll here in SWVA, we're not allowing them to pass through.

All we get in PA and here in N. Florida are the rubys.

Four Goldies so far, but a LARGE crop of turkeys. Over two dozen so far. Ground hogs appear to be on hiatus as well.

We have about a dozen this year in North Georgia but definitely far less than usual. Normally we start seeing them mid April but with the crazy weather this year it was mid March before they started to hit the feeders. We have two feeders up and will add a third next week. The guys are getting thirsty.

Nothing here is Texas. We are heading to Idaho on Monday, we'll see what's going on up there.

I have quite a few here in east central Arkansas. In the past I have had more, and aiso less. They are notional, last rear they favored the feeders in the front, this year it is the back. miles

Up at 8k ft. in NM by this time we normally had a horde that stayed around all summer - about 6 types - and they overwhelmed the feeders. The Rufous always tried to run others away.

Down here now in SE AZ we have the usual amount for June - very few - and a feeder does not seem to hold them here. They do like the blossoms of the desert willows.

Stopped to watch that scene yesterday and noted a pair of bull snakes mating under the tree. Rodents in the traps have been scarce and I suspected that we had some king or bull (gopher) snakes in residence - now know. Hope they stay forever.

Haven't seen many in SW Montana this year. Past few years we had a lot of birds coming into the feeders.

I can't help you from this far west, Jorge, but the storms that birdwatcher talked about may have killed thousands of them. Our black-chinned hummies can detour around the Gulf, but the late snows we had delayed their arrival this year. They're here now and nesting. Saw the first one on April 30, so they were here before that.
