I once heard of a fellow leaving the keys in a brand-new pickup, loaded with used baling wire. The wire was stolen, the pickup was left behind! (Sammo1would probably state that the truck was probably a GM!)

Right around here, 90% of the alfalfa's chopped for hayledge and put into bunkers or 'bags' for dairy herds. I just finished 1st crop last Friday about 10:am.. 950A ran through the CLAAS 970.. Very good 1st crop - I was down to 6.5-8.0 mph taking 75 feet at a whack.. Normally, I'm up around 10-10.5 mph..

Great pictures Wabi. It always amazes me at the lack of trees.
We had a guy near here that got killed a couple of weeks ago when he got run over by a round baler. Not sure how it happened. Wrong place at the wrong time.
Libertytown,Md (KM) One person died following an accident with some farming equipment Wednesday evening.
According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, Frederick County Fire and Rescue were dispatched at around 6:50 PM to the 13600 block of Coppermine Road for one individual trapped under a round hay baler. That person was unconscious and the Medivac Helicopter was requested. The helicopter was canceled after the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another 5-6 weeks here before cutting. Hope it’s a better hay year than last year. We only get one cutting at most.

I don’t miss hauling and stacking square bales. Fire ants had showed up here in 71. That was my last summer doing that

When you put up small square bales in rattlesnake (or copperhead) country, do they come up the bale chute with/in the bale and end up on the bale rack like garter snakes did where I grew up in northwestern Minnesota?
