Anyone fish em? Gotta box full of em from my granddaddy’s box, mostly chrome, never used em.

We've had some luck with Luhr Jensen Jointed Kwikfish (jointed flat fish).

The U20 size with any chartreuse on it is an absolute killer for lake trout in a few of the lakes I fish.

Yeah, the smaller ones work great for trout trolling on lakes and the larger ones work great backtrolled on the rivers for steelhead or salmon.

What sizes Jud? I use the 50's on the Kenai for silvers. The 40's and 50's for lake trout sometimes too.
They work better than kwikfish in slow water and can be the magic ticket somedays for silvers in the froggy water.

I've never used them much but seen them work well in two different situations.
We caught some good sized Lake Trout with a guide that was using a big florescent chartreuse Flatfish on a downrigger really deep on Flathead Lake.
On opening day of trout season in SW Virginia on a small stream in a rural farming area there was an old guy in bib overalls using a long spinning rod with about ten feet of line out walking along the bank but not too close to the edge fishing against the current. He wasn't casting but would swing the line out and pull it though any undercut bank areas or any other spot that looked good and catching fish. I was on the other bank and when he got opposite asked him what he was using. He held it out over the creek and it was a small green frog colored Flatfish with a split shot about eighteen inches in front of it. I said looks like it works pretty good and he laughed and said, "not bad today but I got thirty two yesterday evening before dark after they stocked it."

Used to use Flatfish a bunch for trout (rainbow/cutthroats/the odd brown/Kokanee). F4 was a favourite size in frog, fluor. red, silver, gold, black with spots, perch (I think, black/yellow/white). On some lakes there was a distinct difference in colours vs. effectiveness. Trolled along a dropoff in the lakes or cast across stream and swung through any likely holds. Doing it again I would replace the treble with a single hook for better holding when you do get one. Best trolled/retrieved slow!

Anyplace trout or young steelhead live, where there are salamanders in the food chain, an orange body with black spots is a killer. F-7 is a good size for 12 inch and up fish. I take a pair of wire cutters to the factory treble hooks and cut off one hook. F-3 and F-4 in small coastal streams is murder on pan size trout/steelhead...work across the current in semi slow water at the shallowing end of a hole.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I never fished them but I have seen a lot of guys on the Cowlitz using huge chrome flatfish instead of Spinglows when the water was high with too much color. Given where you live, you know what 'plunking' is.

Those all chrome ones are good ones for Coho. Like you said, belly wrap them with sardines, eggs or tuna belly and put em in some current.

We used to troll them as low as we could get the motor to go without stalling. Right up against weed beds for walleye. Put the flatfish on and add worms. Then put a couple split shot up the line 18 inches.
Then you have the most efficient weed removal tool known to man.
Occasionally we would run into a walleye.
I changed to a harness with spinners and minnows and almost got kicked out of camp lol
