Looking at a Garmin DriveSmart 66 GPS for use in a 2023 Ford Edge SEL and need some help with the following questions, PLEASE. I DO NOT WANT TO USE MY CELL PHONE connected to the Garmin.
Q 1: Can I simply pug the Garmin directly into the USB-A and USB-C receptacles of the Edge and it will function as Built-In Navigation System and not run down the Garmin's battery?
Q 2: Must I plug the Garmin into one of the Edge's 12V receptacle?
Q 3: Must I use my cell phone to get the Garmin to function?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Oh Please, surely someone here can help out Ole Dad.
I have tried Garmin, several retailers, a Forde Edge dealer, and friends all to no avail.
I simply can not find any answers to my questions.

I have one . you can use the USB ports or cigarette lighter. I used it in the cigarette lighter when I last used it last year. You do not have to Bluetooth with your phone.

1 The newer Garmins come with an adapter that will put out 2.4A This may be more than the ones in your car can supply. 2 That would be the best way to power it. 3 Your cell phone is required to use the more advanced features, but not basic navigation.
The manual is available on Garmins web site.
