This has the commercial FN 98 action, Bold trigger, 4X Redfield Frontier, high opens that clear the scope base sight picture and allow for using the iron sights. The bore is good, and there's no rust, bluing is good, barrel band sling front swivel. The stock has a rough exterior, but there are no cracks or splits. It needs to be refinished.

This would make a perfect donor for that 9,3X62 you might want. Send it off to JES. With the high iron sights and QD mounts it would make a great safari rifle.

Good deal. I recently sold an original 649 to a gent who promptly broke the stock. I regret selling it to him. That battel profile makes for a nice, light weight, quick handling rifle. Gonna help a buddy rebarrel his to 9,3x62 soon.

Beautiful rifle and fantastic deal to whomever gets it. I have one in '06. Only thing I did to it was bed it to stop the usual tang crack from starting. Easily shot sub moa with some off the shelf 150gr. Who knows how many rounds down the pipe. Think its a '51 or '52. Gonna be a hammer in 9.3!

The stock is pretty rough, but no cracks or splits. I have reduced the price to $468.00, shipped to the lower 48.
