Is there a fire ban (campfires) on in Ontario right now? I can't get the maps to open but the way I am reading it campfires are prohibited now due to fire conditions. If so, I guess we won't be having a fish fry later this week when we are up there.

Yep, sorry Mate.
Started last Thursday, little bit of rain since, our locale had 12 new fires, over the weekend !
Fishing has been excellent, however !

Thank you Sir! I guess I may as well unpack the saw and big fry pan. I just hate frying fish indoors.

Coleman stove? The propane model is fairly cheap and works great. Cabelas probably has 19 outdoor fish fryer models in stock.

There is a stove in the cabin but when you fry fish inside EVERYTHING smells like it. I also don't like taking a chance on attracting bears.

Use it on the porch. Bears? Shucks, they'll just be another exciting memory of the trip :-) Last time I fished Ontario, we ate walleyes every day. Take the Tums and a can of air freshener!

This is a fly in trip so no electricity. We will be just fine as long as these 80 degree temps go away. That makes for a long day in the boat and poor sleeping weather at night.

??????? Surprised if the camp didn't provide propane fryers ? Good Luck, hoping everything else falls into place for an excellent trip & mucho memories. Always happy to help, too !

That is a great set-up and I like the old burn scar on the Cedar. The camp has a propane stove, BBQ grill and fridge. It is a very remote fly-in and the only cabin (cottage) on the lake. We will be just fine but I always enjoy making pan fried walleye on an open fire. That is the only way I make it at home too.
