Last summer Robert tried to navigate through the Northwest Passage. He didn't make it unfortunately due to boat issues. This summer he is attempting the Inside Passage. Weldbilt did a lot for him and his boat over the winter. Here's some links to follow his progress if anyone is interested. FB pageGarmin tracker

Ptarmigan; Good evening to you sir, I hope you all had a decent day up in Anchorage and you're well.
Thanks for the link and the head's up, I very much enjoyed his journey last summer.
All the best.

Dwayne,
You’re welcome sir! I enjoyed following his journey last summer, which was quite a bit more ambitious I think. This trip is definitely not without perils, but certainly not as dangerous. I hope he makes it and has a great trip. Sounds like a fun adventure, weather dependent of course!!

Ptarmigan; Morning once more, I hope the day up north is as calm and has cooled off enough like it has here and that you're well.
Way back in the day we went to Haida Gwaii which was still called the Queen Charlotte Islands then. After we came back into Prince Rupert we'd booked into the BC Ferry that ran down the Inside Passage from there to Port Hardy on the northern tip of Vancouver Island.
I'd have to look at how many hours that was, but it was overnight, that much I recall.
As a weird bit of a side story, we were on the Queen of the North which was the BC Ferry which later sunk on that same run years later.
Anyways while we had good weather and smooth water, as you note the chuck can be sporty in that part of the world.
Thanks again and all the best.
Dwayne

He's just about to pull into Skagway to finish up his trip North. Not sure if he's doing the return trip or not. Long ride in a jon boat!

Ptarmigan; Good evening to you sir, I hope the day behaved up in Anchorage and you're all well.
No for sure I can't imagine the back and butt ache even in smooth weather on a jon boat that far.
It'll be interesting to see the videos.
All the best to you this weekend.
