They made a 99A also, steel butt plate, schnable forearm. I lucked into this rifle, a throw together after they stopped making them according to Calhoun. He said they were using up parts while in bankruptcy, trying to sell anything they could. I don’t believe it had been fired when I got it, nary a mark on it. It is very accurate with 200 grain Sierras. I’m eager to shoot some pigs with it, maybe a pesky Aoudad if one walks up.

Mr T, hope you got your 99A and member with the centerfold Model, congrats! She's a beauty.

I bought my .375, SN D4355xx, couple of decades ago on the cheap. Barrel bobbed at 16.5", very slight uniform powdering of corrosion. Fortunately, only external. Photos below as with such though not rising to 'pix visible'. New definition of "rust bluing". frown The heavy forend considerably out of proportion and muzzle blast notable. No collector value for sure but a functional .375 in all respects but for typical 'non-reloader; ammo problems!

At under several hundred bucks from the days of private hand-transfer with sufficient ammo to test fire & worked for me. I do particularly like the straight grip lever style and the modern PSI chambering capabilities! Had the idea of a refurb with full stock forend as wild! Duly filed with my other thousand "conjures". Now, noting the above reference to parts "put togethers" from Bankruptcy era, wondering if mine might be one as conjuring that forend and a less than perfect inletting too. Either side of actual Bankruptcy Petition filing, demoralized workers typically not doing 'best work!'

I value my small number of Models 99 if coming to them late in contemplating "collecting life" beyond Winchester & Marlin levers! smile

Thanks for the interesting Thread!
Best!
John

That's a neat little carbine Iskra, it would be just right for a full-length forearm! The woodwork would be easy enough, the metal end-cap might need to be handmade.

...bet it's loud!

I had a pair of 99 375’s but sold one to a Marine down at Cherry Point. I was told the brush gun was the one with the finger grooved forearm and the one with the schnabel forearm was the saddle gun. Am I right or wrong.I kept the saddle gun just felt better
