I'm sure most of us have a friend or a family member who has this stuff. Lift them up in prayers.

Blessings your way.

I saw on Jim's Instagram page a short while back that he was in the hospital for pain in his joints. They don't know what it is that's causing the pain. He tested negative for Lyme disease, but false negatives apparently are common.

So sorry to hear he wife is suffering.

Guiding for years, it's called arthritis and worn-out cartilage and knees.

I have a friend that guided for Dall Sheep for many years, he is in so much pain he has to sleep in a lazy boy chair at night because he can not lay flat.

Jim was a world-class water-polo player for years, which is supposedly easier on joints than other kinds of athletics, but backpack hunting is much harder on joints, both the climbing up and packing heavy loads back down. Haven't seen them for several years, since we quit doing the winter "show circuit" about a decade ago, but hope the best for both.

Not sure how it is in Canada, but here it’s not possible to be hospitalized for joint pains unless it’s felt to be a symptom of some other condition or inflammatory disease. Much more than “wear and tear” would have to be going on. Hope it turns out ok for him.

Terrible news.

Hoping for the best for their family.

I know, since I've had painful Sciatica... But when it comes to packing out heavy loads down a mountain over just a few short years Sciatica comes along first, at least in my case and I don't yet have arthritis.

I’ve got both. I’ll take arthritis over sciatica every day of the week.
