So, as many of you have solved/not solved/ I am pondering the following issue

1 If i go dyi custom, lets say 7 rm or 300 wm. What is the best solution?
2 Hawkins say not for belted
3 Factory browning, tikka, sauer, sako all have acceptable solutions.
4 But if I want to build my own say with ARC or a Zermatt what have you done to solve
5 Do not want bdl

Thank you in advance

Perhaps I'm not understanding the issue correctly but just yesterday aft, I mounted a scope on a buds new 300 WM (Alamo Precision custom) - it's got a Hawkins Hunter DBM using Hawkins Hunter mags.

Single stack, metal feed lipped mags, are amazingly forgiving. I'm impressed, when folks can fhuqk them up. Hint...............(grin)

Perhaps I am wrong but I seem to have read that Hawkins say "not for belted magnum" on the Hunter DBM. I cannot seem to find it. Maybe they changed.

The M5 single stack, thanks BS. Maybe that is the way to go

I would simply start at the fhuqking start and connect mechanical dots, for the inherent advantages. Hint...................

I have had good luck with HS Precision Gen 1 magazines for Long Action Standard and belted Magnum cartridges. 4 rounds of .270/.30-06. 3 rounds of belted magnum in the G1 flush mount magazines. The G2's with drop belly, might hold an extra round each.

Be aware, there will be those who say that the HS mags are junk. However, I am just one lucky guy. My HS Magazines work as designed. My Remington 700 bolt handles do not fall off. And my Leupold scopes don't mess the bed in the middle of a hunt... smile
