Hello. I'm having a .280 AI with SAAMI chamber being built.
I have found Nosler and Peterson .280 AI brass in stock. Are both of these .280 AI SAAMI? I figure they are but just want to make sure before I order.
I haven't used either brand. Any reason to choose one over the other?
Thanks!
Chris

Yes they are both to SAAMI specs.

Both are good. Nosler is uniform and well prepped, but on the soft side. I am not running hot but the primer pockets are toast after four or five loadings.

I run Nosler with no issues. Keep an eye on the primer pockets. Easy to tighten back up with the steel bearing method, as shown on Youtube

Thanks all!!!!
Are the case capacities the same?
I tend to stay at least 1 grain below the listed maximum.

The Peterson brass seems very good so far, just started using it this spring.

I am using Pederson also. Good brass.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

I have used 280AckImp brass from Hornady, Nosler, and Peterson.
The Nosler does not even compare to the Peterson. Nosler brass is overpriced trash. The Nosler was more money than Peterson and its advertised as being fully prepped and ready to load, when in actuality i had to go through a full prep process and then the primer pockets got loose like others mentioned.
Actually the Hornady is far and away better than Nosler. Peterson is like the American made equivalent of Lapua and better in every aspect than anything Nosler will ever produce

Nosler 280 AI is Norma brass.
The general consensus of those that actually use it, is that Peterson is pretty much on par with Lapua brass, when comparing both in a cartridge that they both make.

These days since Nosler acquired Silver State Armory the Nosler stamped brass is made stateside and it IS NOT Norma quality. It's garbage.

Apparently, some Nosler still is sourced by Norma.
SSA is running the Nosler cartridges and large quantity calibers, and Norma does others.
However, 280 AI may well be considered a large quantity caliber at this time.

Wow! Those 6mm Creedmore's look like the rats got at them. I looked at several boxes of Peterson 280AI and they look nothing like the Creeds.

LOL Mere coincidence that on all the forums where there is no shtick (because he got banned and booted for being a fraud and a troll), that Peterson is highly acclaimed for being excellent quality.

I can vouch for new production (last year) Peterson brass (.260 Rem). I have no doubt that their earlier efforts were as Stick has pictured, but I think his tongue lashing squared them up. He certainly did not go easy on them, but they got the message.

Ended up with 100 pieces of Petersons from Grafs. Guess I got lucky. They all look great.
Stick, I hate that you got brass from Peterson all fubar-ed up. I hope they fixed their screw up for ya.

I stocked up on 280ai Nosler brass years ago when BassPro had a sale $42/50ct. .
