I am looking to get close to the buffalo bore load. I have bear creek 147gr poly coated bullets and unique a power pistol, are these good powders to work up a fast load with or what would you recommend? All thoughts on this are appreciated. Thank you.

I don't think you can get near 1100 with those powders, go with something slower like Blue Dot or Longshot or N105. Even then I'm not sure the game is worth the candle. Proceed with caution.

I just ordered a m&p 154g rounded flat nose mold. It runs 147g with the hp pin. My plan is to run a stout load of VV N105 under the flat nose. I've got lots of mono type I just need to figure out the right blend to give me a hard cast that won't fracture. I'm thinking maybe 50/50 with wheel weights

What he ^^^^ said. Others who went in this direction, more velocity with a hefty bullet, came up with the 38 Super +P and the 9 X 29 (9 mm Magnum). They have more powder burning at higher pressures than the 9 X 19.

As per AA's web page Using 6.3/AA #7 is max load.....and clocks just under 1000 fps https://accuratepowder.com/load-data/

Your link is dead and do believe max load #7 is 7.1 with 147 Golden Saber @1039 from a 4”. 6.7 @ 1049 for a lead 147. Unique won’t get him there, never used PP so don’t know.

Western powder load data shows 6.7gr AA7 for 1050fps, 9mm+p. That's the slowest powder they list for 9mm. Hodgdon doesn't list +p with Longshot.

Thanks guys, keep the info coming. If I can get over 1000fps with excellent accuracy I will be happy. May get to the range with the chronograph later today to start testing with power pistol.

Ah, 1000fps makes it a lot easier, you might reach that with std pressures. I'd still try Longshot or N105 first. In case you aren't familiar with Vihtavuori: https://www.vihtavuori.com/reloadin...tion-shooting/#/imperials/2/89/-1/-1/147

I better go find some AA#7. I would be happy if I can get to that velocity with accuracy. Anyone know the hardness on Bear Creek 147FP coated bullets? I have around 700 to shoot up but don't see a hardness listed.

I was browsing online the other day and AA7 is available at several sources. Midsouth has free Hazmat for the next day or two. Might be worth a look.

Buffalo bore uses Rim Rock bullets. Correct just trying to use the bullets up I have first and I like that they are coated also , just not sure how hard they are to compare with the Rim rock bullet.

Be careful as some of these big loads will wreck havock on semi autos with normal springs. Good way to break or crack something. Like many have said if you want your 30-06 to shoot like a 300 mag then buy a 300 mag.
If you find yourself in a hole....quit digging
