Happened March 31st. The WWII Vet (one of the few remaining amongst us till then) was driving (yes, you heard that right), with his wife as a passenger (she survived the wreck with minor injuries), and was stopped at a red light when he was struck by the car of Kassandra Alvarez, a fleeing (from the police) armed robber at 80 MPH. The vet survived for almost a month in the hospital. Alvarez is being charged with his murder. Link to story.

Judging from her picture, if I were filling out the report I would fill in the blank asking the race as white. She is obviously mostly Caucasian. Not being White doesn't make it worse. It just makes it FAR more common.
