I got a chance to grab a S&W model 25 in 45 colt. Really kind of blew up the gun "budget", but I couldn't say no.

You made the right choice. That's a beauty. I'd likely have put that on the card, too.

I have a 625 Mountain Gun (pre-lock) in .45 ACP. Much cheaper to plink with than a .45 Colt chambering, and you can both load and purchase specialty loads that are plenty stout, should the need arise.

That is a beauty for sure. I’m sure you will enjoy it. I have a 25-5 with a 6” barrel, I wish it was a 4”, but it shots well and I do enjoy it.

That one looks like it would be worth blowing up the budget for. Congrats!

Possibly the best double action revolver made. Both platform and caliber make the 25-5 a real candidate for best all around hunting/shooting revolver. I have killed gophers to big game with mine…

Back in the day I owned a 25, 6" barrel and Nickle, had a set of blond bear paw grips. One I wished I'd kept!

Thanks Hawkeye. It has the dreaded large throats but shoots very well with 255gr SWC coated and sized too .454 with 8gr of Unique. That is pretty much all I shoot in it now.

You don't have to aim at them, you shoot for the smell...
