Sciatica is a lower back/hip/back of the leg nerve issue. Not anywhere remotely close to arthritis.
I’ve got both. I’ll take arthritis over sciatica every day of the week.
That's what I hear Godogs. Good luck getting that under control
It comes and goes. The more active I am, the less of a factor both are. I hit the gym 4x a week and those days I’m good to go. On days I miss and relax, say Sunday….it bucks and snorts. My orthopedic surgeon friend recently switched arthritis meds to Etodolac and that’s been a Godsend.
You only live once, but...if you do it right, once is enough.
Jim has rheumatoid arthritis. He started methotrexate treatments a while ago.
RA is a completely different animal than age related arthritis. My wife has had an aggressive form of it and it started with the joint pains and also severe fatigue; she almost couldn’t get out of bed. If Jim has it, guiding, pack outs, etc would be almost out of the question.
There is a questionnaire of about ten questions on numerous web sites that can help you differentiate between RA and age related arthritis. I went through them with my wife and that’s when I told her, “I’ll bet this is RA”. I called and talked to our doc (former flight surgeon and good friend) and pointed him in that direction. He got the ball rolling and tests confirmed it. After seeing a rheumatologist, she started methotrexate. That’s usually the first drug they try and if that doesn’t work, they can add a biologic like Enbrel. That’s what happened in my wife’s case and with Enbrel, the difference was like night and day and she’s leads a pretty much normal life and has had almost no progression.
The earlier you catch it, the less chance of ending up with hands that look like clubs.

the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded. Robert E Lee ~Molɔ̀ːn Labé Skýla~
Louise was not a smoker... Lung Cancer doesn't only happen to smokers... It is just that life can be incredibly unfair and fragile. She is an incredibly classy and kind person, and I have nothing but respect and great feelings toward the whole family. They always took the time to visit and share a great story and never failed to share a hearty laugh whenever we met. Prayers of peace and strength for all involved.
“I am in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection, but with Montana it is love, and it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.” John Steinbeck
Lung cancer took my father on Sept 29, 2013. He was my hunting and fishing buddy. This is me and Pop on his last deer hunt 2 years before he passed. This is a pretty good FL whitetail and a dressed out hog hanging in the background. This deer was taken on one of my friend's land in Okaloosa County FL.
Anybody going through the hell of having a loved one with cancer has my deepest sympathy.
You get out of life what you are willing to accept. If you ain't happy, do something about it!
