The first photo looks much like my Ruger #1 SS in 7 STW. It has seen a long steady diet of 162 Hornady btsp and 160 gr Sierra spbt over H1000 at 3200 fps mv. I do not have specific records, but it is approaching 2000 rnds.

Probably too late to save (lacking a set back and rechamber), but you can slow it considerably by polishing the throat after each session. Done from the beginning it would have not looked like that.

13.6 pound .284 Prone Rifle, sling and irons. 184 Bergers. This barrel has been set back once prior to my acquiring the rifle. Didn't feel like shooting my Palma rifle in the heat here this week, so I scrubbed this .284 barrel clean. I didn't think I could do much more damage to this one... Still shooting good at 1000 yards. 1 sighter and 7 shots for record this morning at Ben Avery Range.
