I asked for prayer in someone else's thread the other day but I wanted this to go out to as many men as possible. Please pray for this Marine Medic who served in Vietnam.
I met this man last week on vacation and my heart actually broke for him when he told me what he's been dealing with since the early 70's. I told him that I'd pray for him and I'm hoping that some here will join me. (He told me that he wants and needs prayer)
The weight that this man is carrying on his back because of guilt and the horrors of that war and what our country put him through are still very real and fresh in his mind. He cannot forgive himself for so many things but we who pray to the triune God know that He can heal and forgive us even when we cannot forgive ourselves. I've been there myself and I know the healing that can take place if we just repent and ask for forgiveness
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
Thank you. The second book of Samuel makes a difference between killing in war, and murder. That might bring him some comfort. 2 Samuel 3:30. That was in today's reading for me, and here I see this thread. Tell your friend he has a message.

I cannot imagine the living hell he’s been saddled with all these years but I’ll pray he finds peace!

On my side of the fence the dings in my psychic circus were not small by any means. Sit down with the fella and push him to talk about it. IT HELPS A GREAT DEAL.

That's great advice Dan, we did just that a few times over the course of 5 days. I plan on calling him and continuing those talks until I see him again at the end of the summer.
