Hey all, been awhile since I've posted, mostly gleaming from the light of others on here. Anyhow Ive ran across a 1928 99 in 30-30. It is extra rough, cracked fore arm busted butt stock and no bluing. I haven't gotten my hands on it yet but I was wondering if anyone here has built a 22hp from a 30-30 should the barrel be bad. Or should I hunt up a HP to start with ?

I have a solid frame 30-30 barrel which has been set back a thread to correct for headspace. The bore is immaculate, as if never fired. The outside has Bubba's wrench marks on it. It clearly is not for everyone, but if it interests you, let me know.
