Any experiences with Browning Bar MK3? The good, the bad and the ugly? Thanks for any feedback on it. Accuracy?
When Ronald Reagan was president, we had Bob Hope and Johnny Cash. Now that Barack Obama is president, we have NO hope and NO cash.

Excellent lightweight automatic , will shoot as well as most bolt actions. Enables you to load the gun quieter than previous models without slamming home the bolt. There will be a red dot on the loading port and if the bolt handle lines up with that you are good and won't have a "non fire".
30-06 tends to like the 165 grain bullets.

Oldelkhunter, sounds right to me as my experience with Browning rifles is they tend to prefer the heavier side when it comes to bullets.

I like the one I bought in 308 last year. I never really shot it for groups to see how accurate it is. I put a red dot on it and use it for deer in front of dogs. Even with a red dot I can get 1.5-2" groups. With the stock adjusted for me, it points where I'm looking and has very little recoil. Didn't get to kill a deer with it last year, but I hunted with it some. I still pick up my shotgun in the thick stuff and killed a couple with it.
It might be lonely at the top, but it's a bitch at the bottom.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems I may have to pick you up in 30-06 as soon as I can find one. They’re like finding hen’s teeth now. I can only find the Stalker model in that caliber which I’m not into.

I can only find the Stalker model in that caliber which I’m not into. Neither was I. I bought the wood one with the nickle receiver. I know it's gonna get beat up the way I'm using it, but that's character I guess. I came close to buying the short DBM model, but worried the magazine would mess with toting it around. With the red dot, I can wrap my hand around the receiver to carry it like I used to with my 7600. If you're in Central FL, Pat's in Leesburg and Petersons in Mt Dora both generally have a few.
