Been wanting one of these for a long time to cut the weeds down along the creek as a friend of mine I did a few favors for heard I was looking for one and he snagged it for Free and we're in the process of de rusting it and re placing all the frozen rusted bolts we cut off with a torch and we'll put it in operation soon! No more weed whacking or walk behind string trimming for me and the wife along the creek as retirement draws near!

Dang, I am looking for one too. I don't have much, but the grass is 3 ft high and still growing. I could put up enough by hand to feed my one mule 6 months

over the past couple years I saw them in different states not really too far but never pulled the trigger as this one fell in my lap!
As I said earlier the price was right!

I appreciate the advice and I'm pretty sure I understand what your saying as I've run Heavy Equipment for a living almost 50 years now full time on some pretty amazing projects doing some things that most would marvel at and accidents can and will happen. The old saying "caution on the side of error" does apply here!
As antique equipment of this nature can be use full but dangerous especially in this instance being ground engaging!!! With NO on/off switch so to speak I do understand.
Just taking it to and from it's resting spot of about 100-150 ft. it will be engaged naturally and that's where the business end can getchya!

I cut a lot of hay with a Ford sickle bar. Does the McCormick Deering have a pitman arm..... if so, buy a couple of extras.

The old IH bolt on drawbar mower? Dad had one. I saw one at the Pochanous sale last Wensday.

I am looking for one that runs off a PTO,3 pt hitch. The tractor automatically shuts off if you have the PTO engaged and try to get off. Newer than the old horse drawn. I had one of those.It was hard on pitman arms.

Cause of a lot of three legged dogs.

Making a Pitman arm for it now. The original was missing as it was probably shot.

Thanks Miles I'm fortunate enough to have several resources at my disposal including a lot of left over unwanted parts from various things so to speak. So adapting and fabricating is just another task that will get done as I am connected to a team of wonderful people who are giving back all the time and we each take pleasure in helping each other out time and time again.
