Well handled by Sheriff Slaughter. That was a great PSA.
One word of caution before we get out of hand, how well has this guy (FFL holder) been vetted? By NO MEANS am I defending the actions of the agencies involved, in either the manner in which they conducted the operation, or anything about it. It was poorly handled from every aspect.
Just saying, before we canonize him it’d be good to know his backstory.
I know I’ll get flamed for even suggesting it, but I like to know who we are taking up for.
Again, Fück the IRS, fück tbe ATFeces and their illegal actions.

The actions of the FFL do not appear to warrant the actions of the agencies...............on first look. And if it's true the IRS (and ATF friends) are hiding behind a US Code to keep the reasons for the warrant from the public, I guess until that FOIA request gets through the Courts we may never know anything except what they dribble out to us.

Even if this guy was the devil I’d still be on the side that’s AGAINST the government BUT that doesn’t mean that I’m “on his side”. I want to know who’s horse I’m saddling to though. He might be 100% right in this particular case but if he’s a nut job or a proven dirtbag I’ll keep my distance. The messenger is oftentimes integral to the message….or at least integral to the legitimacy of the message. I would think that if he did have a shady history the media would be all over it trying to destroy his credibility and ruin his reputation, the fact that they’re not disparaging him is pretty solid evidence that he’s “clean”. …..BUT in today’s clown world full of dispshits and mindless sheep it’s become obvious that logic is shunned and emotion is embraced.

It is my understanding that the ATF cannot legally copy or photograph 4473s. Having the IRS confiscate them is a workaround by Biden’s ATF.
We will be seeing more of these types of workarounds.

We will be seeing more of these types of workarounds. That is correct, but guess what the ATF did? they published a new 4473 where all the info is on the first page, so they can (and are) using their cell phones to capture all the data with just one snapshot.

This sheriff did a great job. He was very clear about what he knows, what he doesn't know, and didn't shy away from criticizing the feds.
And I agree with a couple other posts here. This is the ATF and IRS using a technical workaround of federal law to get 4473s into ATF's hands.
A gun store in a smallish Montana city where the 2A is supported by 90% of the residents would not be the best place in the world to run a test case of this model, however, if that's all there is to it. A gun store in Chicago or Boston, where there is strict gun control and wide support for it would make more sense, unless this particular gun store is actually suspected of tax violations. That way, if there is a case that is successfully prosecuted, the Feds can say, "See! We were totally warranted to grab the 4473s!"

Who knows it might end up being an actual IRS case. Besides being a shady AF execution by the alphabet agencies.
That gun store is where I first heard of Bitcoin, in 2012 there was a large banner that said Bitcoin accepted here. Wish I would have bought Bitcoin in 2012.

If it is a tax case investigation......................why take 4473s when there is nothing tax related on those?
