I am looking at getting my first custom or semi custom rifle. My goal is to have a gun that is going to be accurate and can be used on deer, elk, and possibly caribou. I am wondering if the harvester from hill country rifles is worth the money or should I start looking somewhere else? I know it is not really a fully custom rifle, but the price is within my range- I would like to stay right around or below $2,000- and there is that guarantee of accuracy. WHat do you think?

You can do alot better, fo less money

Look at Patriot Arms, Inc - they have their Genesis Hunter rifle that is pretty much a full blown custom for $1850.

I think they are too proud of their stuff. You can buy a new 700 at Walmart for $325 or less, any mcMillan stock $400-$500, Lilja barrel $300, and top of the line gunsmith and still be under what they charge.

It is less if you have a donor action, more if you don't.

Thanks for all of your opinions and answers. I have a follow up question: what are the pros and cons of the 300 wm vs the 300 wsm, and which one would you recommend? I have narrowed it down to these two. Thanks.
