Tomorrow will be the first day of my retirement!!!
After 48 years at the same job.
Had an outstanding retirement party at work today, including people I worked with 20+ years ago and hadn't seen since. I never had a clue how much I was appreciated. Just overwhelmed by it all.
So, what am I doing this weekend? Any darn thing I want! Congrats, hope you have a good pension or savings

Gotta mill up a red oak log that's sitting in my dad's yard tomorrow then I'm hoping to finish rebuilding our road at the property. Last 20 ton of gravel was supposed to be delivered today, never did call but this guy is good.
Oh and drinking beer

Repairing some sprinkler heads. Also gotta reroute an entire zone because the previous owners thought it was a good idea to run the main supply line from the valve box right next to a tree! Or they planted the tree right next to it! Idiots!
Suffice to say the PVC finally gave up the ghost and the tree roots won. Splintered about a 6 foot section. Nothing like waking up to a flooded yard!

Just poured a dram of Four Roses Small Batch Select to start the long weekend. My sister came in to town for my wife's birthday so we are just chilling. Not much plan wise over the next few days.

Our 53rd anniversary is the 4th. (Yeah, Independence Day. Oh, the irony!) We'll be going to Sunday Brunch at the top of the mountain at Snowbasin Ski Resort, at 8,700 feet LINK to celebrate.

Lay around and try not to hurt. Had a total knee replacement today. Wife is off all next week, so I will have a nurse.

Eating extra food in fridge and freezer power went out noon thurs expected back on sun nite sucks not to have a generator. Could be worse though nothing severe damaged in storm
