I saw the Allman Brothers with Dickey at the Gorge.
Freaking great live!

I saw them 95-96ish with Haynes and Allen Woody at Shoreline. Dickey was too F’d up and didn’t come back out for the second set. It became The Warren Haynes show but I was there to see Betts.

The Dead, by a wide margin.
Phish are wannabes.

"Ripple" is one of the all-time greats!

The Band beats them all and always will.

I went to 2 Dead shows in '92 - Soldier Field. I brought an old Rochester carburetor with me and walked quickly through the crowd saying: carburetor, carburetor, carburetor. Took about 5 minutes to sell it.

l told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Mother Gue, I says, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world, and by God, I was right.

Saw NRPS and The Dead in concert at the Scranton CYC on Apr. 14, 1971.
Listened to American Beauty about a week ago.

Saw the Allman Brothers at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City on July 5, 1971.
A bunch of us used to spend a couple weeks at the shore every summer back in the day.

With the Dead, any show was good if you went for the whole experience, but about 1/3 of the time the actual music was magical.

What did the Grateful Dead fan say when he ran out of dope?

"You know, this band really sucks."

How many Dead Heads does it take to change a lightbulb?

They don’t. They just wait for it to burn out and then follow it around for forty years!

Wrong! It was an LSD, mushroom, and Laughing gas balloons scene when I went, and nobody ran out.

I honestly probably spent more time in the parking lot having fun than actually watching the Dead. 😂

I saw Jerry one evening really out of it……
Probably a year or so before he passed.

I went to 6 shows. I camped out with the hippies and did the whole thing except follow them to the next state. Every one of those people that I met were honest and non-violent. They might try to sell you a vegan burger but would give you one if you looked like you needed it.

Sounds a lot like my friends who used to go to the Rainbow Gatherings.

I never went. Like Travis with dogs.....................I basically hate people.
