I'm being offered an 07 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4, with a 6.7 Cummins, standard cab, automatic, matching topper, with 80,000 miles. The truck was meticulously maintained by it's only owner. No known mechanical, or electrical issues.

Only thing is some light rust on the edges of the wheel wells. Other than that, the body is dent and scratch free. Interior is very clean. Everything else is solid.

Sellers want $12,000

I've never owned a diesel, so I'm not very knowledgeable about these trucks. Seems the price is good. Is this year, model, a good one? What kind of highway milage can I expect? It's not lifted, it's all factory. Thanks for any help.

1st year of emissions, but if it's that clean and with those miles I'd be on my way over to buy it ASAP.

Early '07's had the 5.9 and mid year switched to the 6.7

Dodges automatic transmissions in those years aren’t as sought after as the six speed manuals. However I’ve been looking for a first truck for my son and that seems like a fantastic buy in todays market. I’d say buy it quick.

That is a steal, if the regular cab works for you and there are no major issues.

I have an '09 Mega-Cab 4wd Cummins with 222k miles and honestly, I would not take $20k.

80K miles isn't even broke in yet on that engine. The rest of the truck might rot around it though. I'd address the rust issues ASAP if I were going to buy it.

I had an ‘07 Dodge 2500 quad cab, HIGHLY DESIRABLE 5.9 Cummins. I bought it 12 years ago for $30k. I added wheels/tires, a shell, and a few other goodies. I only had 35k miles.I sold it about a year ago for $31k.

Used vehicle prices are through the roof.

I’d snap that up quick. You can always flip it and make an easy $15k or more.

That's a steal. Trans will hold up if not abused. Emissions need addressed prob in 30k or so.(let them fall off).
The transfer case is the weak link. Run it as a diesel should be run and it will last a very long time. Lots of torque so easy on the go pedal.

Hell of a deal, gave grandson a 2004 with 220,000 recently, runs great, changed water pump twice, rebuilt front end. It got 18 miles per gallon on the highway.

That’s a steal of a price. Fair warning though, the first 6.7 trucks got pathetic mileage. Don’t be surprised if it gets 13-14. The 2013 and newer get much better mileage.

Nope. One of my best buddies just passed away and his wife offered it to me. He maintained it religiously.

That’s a great deal. When I was 15 I got a new 2007 6.7 dually 6spd, it’s been a feed truck for me for the last 8 or 9 years now and has right at 400,000 miles. I did have some emission troubles with it early on and then deleted it after the warranty was gone, other than that I’ve done simple maintenance and I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it anywhere today. That should be the 68rfe automatic and that’s actually a good transmission, I know of several trucks with 250 to 300k on them and haven’t had any trouble yet.
